Things to Do on the Sunset Strip Tonight

It’s 6 PM, you’re in West Hollywood, and the question hits: what’s happening on the Sunset Strip tonight? Whether it’s a Tuesday or a Saturday, there’s something going on — you just need to know where to look.

This guide breaks down what the Sunset Strip has to offer on any given night, so you can stop scrolling and start your evening.

Every Night: Happy Hour on the Strip

If you’re starting early, happy hour is the move. Several bars along the Sunset Strip run nightly specials, but the standout is Bar Jubilee at 8911 Sunset Blvd. Their happy hour runs every night from 7–8 PM with the full craft cocktail menu at $12 (normally $18). It’s the kind of deal where you don’t order a well drink because you don’t have to.

Wednesday: Live Jazz at Bar Jubilee

Wednesday nights on the Strip belong to jazz. Bar Jubilee hosts live jazz musicians in their main bar every Wednesday evening — no cover, no reservations required. The vibe is intimate, the cocktails are strong, and it’s the best midweek nightlife option on the Sunset Strip.

Thursday–Saturday: Peak Strip Energy

This is when the Sunset Strip earns its reputation. Bars are open late (most until 2 AM), the sidewalks fill up, and the energy ramps up as the night goes on.

At Bar Jubilee, weekend nights bring the full carnival atmosphere — the murals glow, the upstairs pool lounge fills up, and the cocktail bar runs at full speed. If you’re looking for a place with genuine personality that isn’t a nightclub and doesn’t require a membership, this is your spot.

The Viper Room and Whisky a Go Go run live music most Thursday through Saturday nights. Rainbow Bar & Grill’s patio is prime territory for a late-night slice and people-watching. Employees Only keeps the speakeasy energy going strong through the weekend.

Sunday–Monday: The Chill Nights

The Strip slows down early in the week, and that’s not a bad thing. Sunday and Monday are when locals reclaim the boulevard from the weekend crowd. Bar Jubilee is open until midnight on these nights — quieter, more conversational, and a great excuse to try a cocktail you’ve been curious about without waiting three deep at the bar.

2000s Top 40 Nights

If you grew up on the music of the early 2000s, Bar Jubilee’s throwback nights are built for you. The energy is high, the playlist is nostalgic, and the cocktails keep the party going. Check with the bar directly for the current schedule — these nights rotate but are consistently one of the best-attended events on the Strip.

Getting to the Sunset Strip

Rideshare is the easiest way in and out. If you’re driving, side streets south of Sunset have metered parking, and there are paid lots dotted along the boulevard. On peak nights (Friday–Saturday), expect to park a few blocks away and walk.

Bar Jubilee is at 8911 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood. Open Tuesday–Saturday 7 PM–2 AM, Sunday–Monday 7 PM–12 AM.

Tonight’s Move

Whatever night it is, there’s something worth doing on the Sunset Strip. Start with happy hour, stay for the vibe, and let the Strip do what it’s been doing for decades — deliver a night that’s better than whatever you had planned.
